Instructors no longer need to configure the quiz settings so that students could use Respondus on their Chromebooks.
This extension does have limitations and known issues. Higher Ed help article to learn more. From Chrome, navigate to your quiz and click the Take the Quiz button. You may have to press the Refresh key on your keyboard, if you experience issues. After completing the quiz, you'll have exit out of the Lockdown Browser Extension to get back to your regular Chrome browser. What should I do? Over applications, such as screen capture and chat programs, are "blacklisted.
When this warning message appears, Respondus LockDown Browser will offer to close the blacklisted program for you, which is the easiest way to continue. I want to use Respondus in a UWF computer lab, but my professor wants us to use the webcam and audio recording features in Respondus. What could I do? Most UWF computers on campus do not have webcams and microphones. Students must schedule this proctoring session in advance. If you have a compatible browser and internet connection preferably a broadband connection such as DSL or cable , you should have no problem connecting to and using e-Learning. A broadband Internet connection is strongly recommended.

Links to Courses and Project Sites appear as tabs across the top of the page. If you are getting errors, it is because the content is placed in a location that isn't accessible to you. Various browsers handle pdf files differently. If you encounter a pdf file that doesn't open, right-click the file and download it. You will be able to open it on your computer. It is recommended that you take online assessments during Help Desk hours whenever possible.
If you have a problem while taking an Assessment, log out and log back in as quickly as possible. If the assessment is timed, the timer will continue to run while you are logged out. If you still encounter difficulties, take a screen shot of the problem so the Help Desk can investigate and you will have proof of the problem for your Instructor. Call the Help Desk immediately. The Respondus LockDown Browser is a security measure that may be required by your instructor. If your test requires the use of this browser, it will say "requires use of the LockDown browser" in the title of the test and you will not be able to begin the test in a traditional browser.
If you have not already installed the browser, you will be given a link to download the browser, or you may install the browser at any time from this link. You won't be able to access the exam with a standard web browser.
Ensure your first exam using LockDown Browser runs smoothly! Have students take an ungraded practice quiz that requires the use of LockDown Browser, before the graded exam occurs. Leave the quiz available for the duration of the course, with unlimited attempts, so students can access it again if they use a different computer.
